One can’t call it a complete success, but it was a start. More or less one hundred people were present and motivated to fight for the rights of the animals. But what’s the situation in Luxembourg? A global anchorage in the constitution without concrete guidelines or examples. 2007 and 2008 were years in which the EU-Deputies of Luxembourg showed their real intentions. Neither the petition against bullfights nor the petition for the prohibition of dogfights were signed by our animal lovers, except of one: Claude Turmes (Deputy for the Luxemburgish Greens in the EUP).
Cosmetic industries, animal testing, racking animal transports, slaughters en masse without anesthesia and horrible activities like these are happening day for day in our democratic and fair world. To me it’s more a massacre instead of killing the livestock to guarantee the surviving of our species. We need to stop that. Animals are living creatures too, exactly as we are. There is no reason why we should be on top of the food chain. Animals as human beings have to live together in harmony and not in agony. For some it is fun to torture and afterwards kill animals. It’s perverse and irresponsible. If everyone carries just a little bit, change in a positive way will come.
