World Animal Day 2009

One can’t call it a complete success, but it was a start. More or less one hundred people were present and motivated to fight for the rights of the animals. But what’s the situation in Luxembourg? A global anchorage in the constitution without concrete guidelines or examples. 2007 and 2008 were years in which the EU-Deputies of Luxembourg showed their real intentions. Neither the petition against bullfights nor the petition for the prohibition of dogfights were signed by our animal lovers, except of one: Claude Turmes (Deputy for the Luxemburgish Greens in the EUP).

Cosmetic industries, animal testing, racking animal transports, slaughters en masse without anesthesia and horrible activities like these are happening day for day in our democratic and fair world. To me it’s more a massacre instead of killing the livestock to guarantee the surviving of our species. We need to stop that. Animals are living creatures too, exactly as we are. There is no reason why we should be on top of the food chain. Animals as human beings have to live together in harmony and not in agony. For some it is fun to torture and afterwards kill animals. It’s perverse and irresponsible. If everyone carries just a little bit, change in a positive way will come.

Thought: BMW drivers: for cryin’ out loud

8 of 10 BMW drivers are completely nuts, because they’re driving like fools on the motorway or anywhere else, they don’t observe any rule, don’t have respect for other people and I almost built two major accidents because of BMW drivers…

I’m sure that they all have hung ups for some reasons. May be a psychologist would be better than 17 inch hubcaps or whatever.

Regards of an upset driver,

P.

10th System Administrator Appreciation Day

We – all of us – often forget how hard the work of a System Administrator is day for day. Whether small or big networks, there are always some problems, one’s are bigger, others are smaller, but eventually there are still problems. Stupid and tedious questions of users are accompanying them 24/7/365. And how desperately the situation is, the SysAdmins solves the problem – with all conceivable methods if necessary. 10 years ago the System Administrator Appreciation Day has been inaugurated to thank these people. They have nerves of steel and their blood is information data. They have a very special philosophy of life and I think that the following expression hits it right in the middle: While there’s black despair, there’s hope.

Happy SysAdminDay and thank you all for your great work, you’re doin’ day after day.

Regards,
Prometheus
